Configure Microsoft Intune

Learn how to create an App Protection Policy in Microsoft Intune and link it to the Staffbase Employee App.

Employee App

Microsoft Intune integration with the Staffbase enables you to apply MAM and MDM policies directly to your app. This allows you to enforce security controls such as restricting data transfer, requiring secure access, and ensuring that only compliant users and devices can access corporate content.

After preparing the Microsoft Entra ID configuration, complete the setup in Microsoft Intune. In this step, you ensure that the Employee App is linked to an app protection policy and that the correct users are targeted.

To enforce security controls on the Employee App, you must link the app identifier to the protection policy. This policy defines how corporate data can be accessed and handled within the app.

  • You have the package name and bundle ID of your Employee App.
  • You have the required permissions to create or manage App Protection Policies in Microsoft Intune.
  • You know which users or groups should be assigned to the protection policy. These users must have a Microsoft Intune license.
  1. In the Microsoft Intune admin center, navigate to Apps > Protection.
  2. Click Create > Android.
    The Create policy page opens.
  3. Provide a name and description for the protection policy.
  4. Click Next.
  1. Click + Select custom apps.
The Select apps to target opens.
  2. In Package ID, enter the package ID.
  3. Click Add.
  4. Select the package identifier you added.
    The Package ID is added.
  5. Click Select.
The Employee App is now linked to the App Protection Policy.

You need to assign the policy to the users or groups who should receive the protection settings.

  1. Continue clicking Next until you reach Assignments.
  2. Click Add groups and add user groups.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Review the configuration and click Create.
Intune now applies the App Protection Policy to the assigned users when they access the Employee App.

Start the process again, beginning with Create a protection policy. Select iOS/iPadOS to begin, and enter the bundle ID of your Employee App.
